When material design spec was first launched, I had just joined my first company. It’d been just a couple of months. I had never coded before. I was so clueless ( in retrospect ) about what material design was, even after reading it for a while, that I thought that it had something to do with actual gap between the glass of the screen and the screen itself of a device, that’d enable to give 3D-shadow like effect to a user’s eye to better engage them between which element is where, what are they supposed to do, and how should they look in different states. 😆
